In 1970 we introduced the first planer board to the fishing public and after forty years charter captains, professional fisherman and everyday fishing enthusiasts continue to find ways to catch more fish with our planer boards. Our planer boards allow you to cover areas you couldn’t cover before. They allow you to maintain your line in prime fishing areas without spooking fish.The large surface of the Yellow Bird board increases buoyancy and allows you to carry lures and live bait up to 150 feet or more from the side of the boat at variable depths.

Yellow Birds can handle most types of lures and jigs in various water conditions.  It can be used to troll a variety of crank baits, spoons, spinners, etc. The Yellow Bird planer board is molded from EPS foam with an internal ballast system to allow it to ride upright until the line is released. For years you’ve seen guides use this product… Now it’s your turn to catch more and bigger fish!

The “Original” Yellow Bird measures 7 ½ inches long and 3 inches wide, and includes planer board releases and hardware. For larger catches use our “Big Bird” model which measures 10 ¼ inches long and 3 ¾ inches wide.
